Nana will be building on his session from the 2024 PharmacyForum, encouraging an open discussion among the pharmacists and pharmacy group business leaders to share insights on how innovation and forward thinking can be embraced to drive a positive future for community pharmacy.

Nana Ofori-Atta currently holds the position of Managing Editor for Clinical and Custom Content at C+D.  He is a pharmacy professional with a diverse background in pharmacy, education, and learning and development. With over a decade of experience as a community pharmacy manager, Nana has honed his skills in the practical aspects of pharmacy management, customer care, and ensuring development of effective educational and clinical content to improve the pharmacy landscape.

Ian Strachan started his career as a forensic scientist in 1980 at the Home Office forensic science laboratories in Aldermaston Reading. Having served for five years in the chemistry division relating to crimes against the person, Ian studied pharmacy at Brighton. Qualifying in 1986 as a pharmacist, Ian worked across a multitude of independent pharmacies including the multiples. He gained a PGCE in 1992 and became a consultant to the pharmaceutical industry both in pharma and many blue-chip consumer healthcare companies Ian wrote three publications for the pharmaceutical industry and was the author of the first accredited medicines training for care homes in the UK. Ian has been the chairman of the national pharmacy association becoming its longest-serving chairman in the association’s history. He was the spokesperson and figurehead during the now infamous cuts and efficiencies consultation to community pharmacy between 2014-2019 A period many consider a halcyon period for the sector as its strategy to influence government thinking resulted in a number of significant victories Ian acquired a series of new contract pharmacies in 1986 and is now the owner of a group of four pharmacies across the North West.

Raman Gangwar is the Director of Business & Acquisitions at Wellbeing UK, a very fast-growing community pharmacy chain based in the Midlands. Established in 2009, the company began with its first branch in Sharnbrook, Bedfordshire, and has since grown to operate over 40 locations across England.  The brand was officially incorporated into all areas of operations in 2010, marking the beginning of its significant growth phase. Between 2011 and 2013, Wellbeing Pharmacy expanded to six branches, and by 2023, it had grown to 40 branches

Malcolm Harrison is the Chief Executive of the Company Chemists’ Association (CCA). The CCA is the trade body for multiple pharmacies in England, Scotland and Wales. Previously Malcolm worked as part of the Walgreens Boots Alliance International Healthcare Public Affairs team. He was also a Fellow of the NHS Innovation Accelerator programme, working with NHS England and the Academic Health Science Networks to develop new ways in which innovation and technology can be brought to market at scale within the NHS. Malcolm previously worked in a variety of roles within Boots UK both as a pharmacist and within retail operations. Malcolm has been a registered pharmacist for over 25 years. He holds a CIPR Diploma in Public Affairs and is chairman of the charity Pharmacy Research UK.
